It is only a few short weeks until VALLEYLIFE’s first ever Dessert Dash and Hat Luncheon and we couldn’t be more excited!
With it being a new event, some of you may be asking yourselves “what on earth is a Dessert Dash?” Well, we’re here to break it all down for you so you can properly prepare yourself for an afternoon full of fun, and sweet treats.
What’s a Dessert Dash?
A Dessert Dash is all about teamwork, generosity, and, of course, delicious desserts! Here’s how it works:
1. Each table collects contributions from attendees, with a goal of securing the highest table bid.
2. Once the fundraising round is over, tables are ranked from highest to lowest based on their total donation amount.
3. The top fundraising table gets to "dash" first, sending a designated team member to the dessert table to grab a dessert for their table before the next highest table is announced - so the faster you dash, the better your selection!
4. The fun continues as each table sends a runner to claim a treat, ensuring that every table enjoys a sweet reward.
Why Participate?
Besides the obvious sweet incentive of one of our delectable desserts, the event serves as a fun way to raise funds for VALLEYLIFE to help fund the needs of our Members. Plus, who isn’t a fan of a little friendly competition?
Every dollar raised at the event goes towards directly serving our Members, giving participants the chance to support us in our work providing premier services to individuals with disabilities.

Make sure to mark your calendars because the event is set to take place on February 28th at Moon Valley Country Club. This Academy Awards-themed event will feature a delicious lunch, an opportunity to socialize, and amazing desserts from some of the top bakeries in the Phoenix area.
All guests are invited to wear and participate in the themed hat competition at the event, with winners being selected from three categories -- Best Academy Award Themed Hat, Most Glamourous, and Most Innovative.
Individual tickets can be purchased for $65 as well as a table of 10 ticket for $600. For added fun, we’re inviting table hosts to participate in an Academy Awards themed tablescape competition.
